When it comes to eating out, we seem to have more healthy options than ever before. Steamed buns, fruit juice bars… representing healthy eating are booming. Saving time and enjoying delicious, nutritious meals is truly wonderful.
But if you’re aiming to lose weight, the latest research published in Men’s Health shows that the best way to lose weight is to take care of yourself by cooking at home.
A study published in the international journal Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity examined survey data from 11,000 adults aged 29-64 and found a strong correlation between home-cooked meals and weight.
Accordingly, those who cooked at least 5 meals a week had a 28% lower BMI and were 24% less obese than those who ate at home less than 3 times a week.
In addition, those who ate at home also consumed more fruits and vegetables and drank less alcohol.
In short, cooking your favorite meals and getting enough sleep is the right path to weight loss.
